The UGM Party has concluded a two day Young Aspirants Convention in Kisumu as part of its structured preparations for the 2027 General Elections.

The convention was graced by the Co-Party Leader and Presidential Flag Bearer, David Maraga, as Chief Guest. In his address, he underscored the party’s commitment to constitutional leadership, internal discipline, and ideological clarity. He emphasized that aspirants seeking to run on the UGM ticket must demonstrate fidelity to the Constitution, party principles, and accountable governance.

The training focused on political organisation, the party manifesto, campaign strategy, and the responsibilities that come with public office. UGM maintains that leadership is a duty anchored in law and service, not personality or expediency.

During the convention, the party leadership headed by Hon. Maraga formally presented the nomination certificate to Mr. Kennedy Njeru as the UGM Party MCA candidate for the February 2026 by-election in Evorore Ward, Embu County. Mr. Njeru, a young Kenyan committed to public service, is seeking to serve as the next Member of County Assembly for his ward. His presentation signals the party’s intention to front young, principled candidates in elective positions ahead of 2027.

Hon. Maraga was joined by Co Party Leader Hon. Neto Agostinho, Co Secretaries General Hon. Sialo Tasur and Hon. Katto Wambua, Co Organizing Secretary Hon. Easter Elizabeth Ogweno, Kisumu County Coordinator Hon. John Obure, and Presidential Secretariat Executive Director Mkawasi Mcharo. The convention was issue driven, with participants interrogating governance, youth participation, and institutional reform.

UGM continues to build capacity within its ranks, anchored on UKATIBA, collective leadership, and structured political growth. The UGM Party calls on all young aspirants and all Kenyans who believe in constitutionalism and accountable leadership to join the Ukatiba Movement!
