Youth Unemployment

With a youth population at 70% of the estimated 52 million and growing, Kenya has a reserve productive youthful population whose potential if harnessed sorts out numerous immediate and future societal shortfalls while at the same time forestalls disorder.

Previous regimes have failed to tap this potential demographic dividend. If explored in an ample social, economic and political environment, it would enable this productive significant population to constructively engage in activities that contribute to the growth and economic development of the society. The inequalities brought about by non-inclusion, corruption, nepotism, favoritism and open bias have led to dejection, idleness, and is in turn a ticking time-bomb of disorder, resentment, and various social ills.

As UGM, we seek to advocate for placements of this population through innovations, use of acquired knowledge and skills, learning from the experienced expertise and improvement of existing systems. Through review, formulation and enforcement of policies and legislations, we will ensure the quotas and representation designated for the youth are realized.

Through political empowerment, UGM will engage the youth ensuring their voices are reflected and represented to drive and direct the formulation of policies, legislation, plans, and aid in decision-making. The provision of this platform is to enable the youth bring forward new and youthful ideas which are in tandem with innovations, creativity and entrepreneurship, hence the realization of significant creation of employment for wealth or improved welfare. A united youthful population towards a future-focused agenda would see a reduction in tribalism, corruption, poor governance, environmental degradation, amongst others.
