Environment
The environment is our indivisible shared heritage. Humanity aims to subsist through extractions and has to safeguard nature’s continuity. Therefore, everyone has the right to a clean and healthy environment that anchors human security and development.
UGM will champion the formulation, promotion and enforcement of regimes that ensure the resources are exploited sustainably for the benefit of present and future generations.
The UGM pillar on environment is anchored on preservation, protection and restoration of our shared renewable and non-renewable resources. UGM will revolutionize and prioritize the conservation of the environment to safeguard the intergenerational equity. Through a comprehensive set of reviewed provisions, we aim to ensure implementation of specific and precise remedies from a decentralized standpoint by the most effective actors while supervised by a central agency.
Through public participation, partnerships, awareness and incentives towards healthy environment practices, UGM aims to come up with inclusive, progressive, enforceable laws and regulations. Hybrids of traditionally effective practices and contemporary scientifically proven means shall form the policies to address climate change effects, declining and unpredictable agricultural production, deforestation, and desertification. The promotion of local initiatives, inventions, creativity and partnerships towards exploration and use of renewable sources of energy will be a pillar in ensuring sustainability and fostering the nature of ideas of locals towards conservation of the environment.
