Our Manifesto

The United Green Movement is focused on establishing a united, peaceful, & prosperous nation, in which all citizens enjoy social, economic and democratic rights, living in dignity and in harmony with their environment. To achieve this objective, the party focuses on the following three point platform;

Youth Unemployment
With a youth population at 30% of the estimated 52 million and growing, Kenya has a reserve productive youthful population whose potential if harnessed sorts out numerous immediate and future societal shortfalls while at the same time forestalls disorder.

We seek to advocate for placements for this population through innovations, use of acquired knowledge and skills, adaptation, learning from the experienced expertise and improvement of exiting systems. Through review, formulation and enforcement of policies and legislations, we will ensure the quotas and representation designated for the youth are realized.

Previous regimes have failed to tap the potential demographic dividend that if explored in an ample social, economic and political environment would enable this productive significant population to constructively engage in activities that contribute to the growth and economic development of the society. The inequalities brought forth by non-inclusion, corruption, nepotism, favoritism and open bias have led to dejection and idleness, and in turn a ticking time-bomb of disorder, resentment, and various social ills.

Through political empowerment, UGM will engage the youths ensuring their voices are reflected and represented to drive and direct the formulation of policies, legislations and plans, and in decision-making. The provision of this platform is to enable the youth bring forward new and youthful ideas which are in tandem with innovations, creativity, and entrepreneurship, hence realization of significant creation of employment for wealth or improved welfare. A united youth population towards a future-focused agenda would see a reduction of vices such as tribalism, corruption, poor governance, environmental degradation, and pollution among others for a predictable optimistic future.

Environment

The environment is our indivisible shared heritage and, humanity aims to subsist through extractions and has to safeguard nature’s continuity. Therefore, everyone has the right to clean and healthy environment that anchors human security and development. UGM will champion the formulation, promotion and enforcement of regimes that ensure the resources are exploited sustainably for the benefit of present and future generations.

The UGM pillar of environment is anchored on preservation, protection and restoration of our shared renewable and non renewable resources. UGM will revolutionize and prioritize the conservation of the environment to safeguard the intergenerational equity, away from the indifference and noncommittal of other entities. Through a comprehensive set of reviewed provisions, we aim to ensure implementation of specific and precise remedies from a decentralized standpoint by the most effective actors while supervised by a central agency.

Through public participation, partnerships, awareness and incentives towards healthy environment practices, UGM aims to come up with inclusive, progressive, enforceable laws and regulations. Hybrids of traditionally effective practices and contemporary scientifically proven means shall be the panacea policies to address climate change effects, declining and unpredictable agricultural production, deforestation, and desertification. The promotion of local initiatives, inventions, and creativity and partnerships towards exploration and use of renewable sources of energy will be a pillar in ensuring sustainability and fostering the nature of ideas of locals towards conservation of the environment.

Social Justice & Equality

We aim to ensure and preserve human dignity to realize full development of everyone’s potential through promotion of universal human rights and fundamental freedoms; rights which are innate, inextricable and interdependent. With the provision and availability of equal rights, equal opportunities and responsibilities comes ample environment for human security and full development of individuals and communities.

On promoting equality and equal opportunities of all gender, age, religion, tribe, community or other, UGM aims to foster these principles to the latter as already manifested in the leadership and decision making organs of the party of co-positions by two occupants of each gender. Equal representation ensures meaningful participation and provision of arena to champion issues that impede engagement and empowerment of any particular group or community.
