The UGM Youth League joins Young Greens for the National Youth Greens Congress in Rwanda

The UGM Youth League represented by co-youth leaders Hon. Sialo Tasur and Hon. Sydney Ogada had the honor of participating in the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda’s National Youth Greens Congress, an event dedicated to empowering the next generation of green political leaders in Africa!

Hosted by the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda (DGPR) in Rwanda, this congress united a diverse and passionate group of young individuals, including representatives from AYA (ADISI YA AFRICA), the Green Forum, UGM, and teams from young green movements in Madagascar, Congo, Netherlands, and Amsterdam.

AYA (ADISI YA AFRICA), unveiled during this congress, carries a powerful mission: to ignite youth engagement and activism across Africa, to actively shape the continent’s future. This initiative was co-founded by youth members of green political parties from various countries, including Congo, Madagascar, Rwanda, and our own youth leaders, Hon. Sialo Tasur and Hon. Sydney Ogada of the United Green Movement Party.

The congress provided a platform for these emerging leaders to undergo training sessions, focusing on the reinforcement of political party youth wings and the art of running successful political campaigns. It also offered a valuable space for sharing invaluable experiences gained during election campaigns.

The UGM party youth league extends our heartfelt gratitude to DGPR, the Green Forum Sweden, AYA, and all the passionate youth in green politics who are boldly making a difference in Africa. The time to act is now!
