The United Green Movement (UGM) Party stands out as one of the few political parties in Kenya with a genuine 50:50 gender balance in leadership. This representation reflects the party’s commitment to equality, inclusion, and participatory democracy. However, true representation goes beyond numbers, it demands informed engagement, policy influence, and the ability to shape the party’s internal and external agenda.

The UGM Party Women League Convention, to be held in Nakuru County on 27th October, 2025, provides an opportunity for women leaders to review key party documents including the manifesto, election and nomination rules, and other policy frameworks to better understand them and ensure they are gender-responsive. By equipping our women leaders with this knowledge, the party aims to ensure that its frameworks and operations consistently reflect the realities, priorities, and aspirations of women in politics.

The convention will bring together two co-women leaders from each of the branches where UGM Party is present, creating space for collective reflection, dialogue, and practical recommendations that align the party’s policies with gender-responsive principles of fairness, participation, and accountability.
