The United Green Movement Party (UGM) has officially launched its Kilifi and Mombasa County branch offices, marking a major step in expanding its grassroots presence in the Coast. The launches, held at Bilima Grounds in Magarini and Kilifi Town, were presided over by the party’s Co-Leader and Presidential Flag Bearer, Hon. David Maraga. He was joined by Co-Leader Hon. Neto Agostinho, National Co-Women Leader Hon. Catherine Dzame, Director for Ecological Wisdom Ms. Lilian Mulupi, Director Community Based Economics Hon. Lilian Mwagumba, NEC Member Hon. Rebecca Kwekwe, County Coordinators Hon. Dzombo (Mombasa), Hon. Fondo (Kilifi), Hon. Abubakar Maawiya (Lamu) and various branch officials.

Speaking during the events, Hon. Maraga said the establishment of the two offices reflects UGM’s commitment to decentralizing politics and bringing leadership closer to the people. By the end of this year, the party intends to have functional offices in all 47 counties. Politics must return to the people; their communities and homes for real inclusion and change.

The new county offices will serve as coordination centers for the two counties, focusing on membership drives, civic education, and local community engagement. Local leaders hailed the move as timely, noting that UGM’s people-centered approach offers a refreshing alternative to ideologically-driven politics.

Hon. Maraga reiterated that UGM stands for leadership anchored in integrity, rule of law, equality, and environmental responsibility.

The launch of the Kilifi and Mombasa branches underscores UGM’s growing momentum ahead of the 2027 elections and its vision to build a united, just, and sustainable Kenya, one county at a time.

As Greens, we planted trees to mark the occasion in Mombasa.
